img_9223I am pleased to announce that I will edit 4 more monster volumes for Fox Spirit Books.

UK-based Fox Spirit Books was awarded with British Fantasy Awards in 2015 as Best Independent Press and I am thrilled to be able to work together with them. The monster books are annual coffee table books filled with short stories, graphic stories and art.

We have published three volumes so far:

With awarded authors like Nnedi Okorafor, Tade Thompson, Sarah Lotz, Ken Liu, Xia Jia, Aliette de Bodard, Usman T. Malik, Isabel Yap, Jayne Bauling, Eve Shi, Jonathan Grimwood and Adrian Tchaikovsky, to name a few.

November 2017 we continue with monsters from the Pacific area. The next two volumes will cover South, Mid and North America (including the Caribbean islands) before the series end with Eurasia (including Russia, Eastern Europe and the Balkan) in the end of 2020.

We feel that the monsters are misunderstood, overused, watered down. Our mission with the world tour book series is to give the monsters of the world a renaissance, to reestablish their dark reputation, to give them a comeback, let the world know of their real terror. We also want to show off all the wonderful authors and artists around the world.

The monsters in the Fox Spirit books of Monsters don’t sparkle or have any desire to be a human or part of the human society. These monsters have no interest in you except tearing you apart or putting terror in your heart. Bless them.

The stories in the monster books cover a broad range of dark tales about monsters, mainly based on local folklore, legends and history but you will also find stories based on more modern myths or even monsters who have never existed before. The stories cover many genres like science fiction, horror, fantasy, crime, steampunk, YA, post apocalyptic, and even more literary stories.

Thank you so much to wonderful Adele Wearing and Fox Spirit Books for this opportunity! I feel very lucky, it is so fun and interesting to be able to work with talented authors and artists all over the world.
